Was checking out the latest discounts around town this week and I passed by Banana Republic at Paragon Level 3. Their offer was "2nd piece at 50% off", which should be the lower priced item, according to my shopping experience. Increased variety of clothing there since the last time i visited. The main thing that caught my eye was the increased range of colours for the basic v-necks and crewnecks
These basic tees come at $35 a pop. Slightly pricey as compared to Zara's basic tees. However, if you take advantage of their promotion, you can get 2 at $52.50, or 1 for $26.25. Not too bad for a basic tee from Banana Republic, whose quality should be far better than the Topman basic tees that cost $20 each, or during one of their many promotions throughout the year, 2 for $29.90. The Topman tees are of average quality and the sleeves and the collar will be wrinkled and loose after a few washes (personal experience). The Banana Republic ones would be comparable to Zara's as BR's tees are made from our very own sunny island, Singapore! Another way to support your own country. These basic tees come in handy on those lazy Sundays where you just feel like donning the "T-shirt-with-jeans" combo (remember to add a pair of shades as mentioned before in my previous post!). For a wedding luncheon, you can also wear a blazer over it for a smart casual look. But remember, these tees should fit just right, dont wear it too tight!
