After going through the S/S09 collection again, i realised that many cheery colours have surfaced in this season, such as Hogan sneakers which come in purple and yellow, the colourful pants of Gucci or the colour blocking of Jil Sander's, just a few to name. However, there is a common trend between a few collections, especially from Louis Vuitton and Homini Emerito by Mango, which is the creation of pink pieces! Here are some of the pictures from HE by Mango:
One of them is the pink cardigan with black tipped details that was talked about in my previous post. A pink shirt and a pink vest are also spotted in this collection. All these can be found at the Isetan Scotts counter at Level 3, amongst others. Saw these vibrant pink pieces last week as I visited them.
Next up, here are the Louis Vuitton pictures:
Louis Vuitton's S/S09 menswear collection may have mainly pale colours for its pieces, but these pink pieces inject some vibrancy and colour into the collection. There is a full set of pink clothing, ranging from a top, jacket, vest, pants and shorts. What we lack now is a pair of pink shoes to look like a walking bubblegum stick! Remember, its good to embrace pink, but don't overdo it.
Could Louis Vuitton and HE by Mango be starting a trend, with the former setting it for the luxury brands, while the latter being the innovator for the high street brands to follow? We will see. Meanwhile, besides these 2 brands, others are also getting on the pink fever. Case in point: Salvatore Ferragamo's pink-dyed alligator leather trench coat, and Dior Homme's electro pink jacket.Embrace pink guys! Its no longer a girl's colour! My current pink collection includes a pink jumper from Giordano and a pale rose polo T-shirt from Ralph Lauren. Small one, i know. =/ What's yours?
