Intrecciato Insights #5: Man Clutches!

Man clutches look set to be the trend for the next season or two. Many designers have come up with their form of clutches or portfolios. I have one from Hayden-Harnett but I would like more, and here are some options, for those interested in bagging one for themselves, from the Fall 09 season, Spring 10 season, and the classic ones from brands like Balenciaga

Balenciaga Envelope Clutch (approx. SGD$1500)
Lovely clutch that can hold many items. Love it in Automne colour from Spring 09.

Prada Portfolio
This perforated portfolio from Prada's Spring 10 Collection can pair any ensemble, casual or formal.

Dries Van Noten Portfolio (USD$885)
This croc version of a portfolio looks like my Hayden-Harnett in terms of its zippered slots, and the flap. Black croc portfolio screams stylish businessman.

Bottega Veneta Nero Waxed Python Satchel (USD$4350)
Luxurious python leather added with two lines of BV's signature weaving on the sides of the satchel makes this Fall 09 satchel a must have.

Bottega Veneta Nero Soft Crocodile Satchel (USD$10800)
The Holy Grail of the clutches, the satchel of all satchels (for now), the price is extraordinary, but the croc leather is just as good. Very lovely and classic piece that can be used for many prosperous years to come.

To tell you the truth, this is my wish list! =X

Mr. Intrecciato Saw #13: Bottega Veneta SS10

Bottega Veneta, as some readers would know by now, is my favourite brand. The quality of their items, both clothing and leather accessories alike, are of top grade, which provides a reasonable explanation to the high prices you have to pay for a piece of BV. BV SS10 showcased an array of styles, ranging from a lightweight baseball jacket, military-inspired green tops, purple and red suits and the denim & jacket combo. Here are some of my favourite looks:

"Sporty Italian In Ivy League College". Pretty much sums up this look.

The green top with epaulettes is obviously inspired from the military, and when paired with tan trousers, exudes a summery feel to the outfit. The blue croco tote adds a pop of colour to the whole look.

Colourful suits of various styles were also showcased

I like how the various blue pieces were complemented together in this look. The blue checkered shirt and the dark blue jacket, along with the denim, had different shades of blue, preventing a lethal overdose of blue in this look.

After all, this IS Bottega Veneta, so how can we forget about its leather bags?

The classic Cabat

Looks like a redo of the Spring 08 Oceano Sardegna Canvas Duffel, this time round in the grass-friendly green colour.

Lovely weaving down the centre of this duffel.

Mr. Intrecciato Saw #12: Uniqlo Fall 2009

What better way to celebrate the opening of the Uniqlo store in ION orchard than to take a look at its Fall collection! As Fall and Winter approaches, it becomes common for people to adopt more somber colours such as the usual black, grey or brown. Uniqlo tries to change that common thought by adding colour into its Fall collection. Ranging from the parkas & bomber jackets to long-sleeved sweaters and plaid shirts, this collection looks set to popular with its colourful pieces.

I am in love with this blue biker jacket, but am afraid I may suffer from a heatstroke if I wear it in Singapore. Lovely piece if you ask me.

I like how the argyle cardigan complements the wool grey pants, yet matches with the purple plaid shirt. Will make space in my wardrobe for them :D

As you can see, checkered shirts seem to be the trend in this collection besides the normal fall/winter wear. Is Uniqlo slow to catch on to the plaid trend? I doubt so. Plaid have come to stay! Can't wait to check them out in store!

(P.S.: I don't know why, but there seems to be some problem with blogger for me, and it doesn't allow me to add pictures or links, which troubles me! Not sure what's wrong either, I think there's some problem with the javascript(am I right?) that loads all the buttons at the top such as changing fonts and etc. Anyone experiencing the same problem?)

Mr Intrecciato Saw #11: D&G SS10

D&G has never failed to delight me with every passing season. I am always excited to see what D&G has to offer in each collection. This time round, D&G has created a cowboy theme for its SS10 collection. Denim jackets, faded denim and leather boots are one of the regular items in this collection. I am liking the half-buttoned-shirt/jacket-revealing-inner-Tshirt look after checking out this collection. Here are some of my favourite looks.

I like the brown leather jacket and how it goes well with the faded grey denim. The studded belt brings out the whole "Wild Wild West" look. Holding the leather tote as a clutch, are we going to see the rise of the man-clutch?

I like how the neutral colours of this outfit is constrasted by the brown lining of the placket and the leather belt. Lovely. A studded leather duffel, looks like D&G took a leaf out of Frida Giannini's book, whose Gucci FW08 Collection consisted of many studded leather accessories.

This outfit looks normal at first glance, but if you look carefully, the denim is actually printed, meaning that it is actually a pair of trousers printed with a picture of denim jeans. Very quirky indeed.

Who would have thought that a denim top could go so well with a suit? Looks like the perfect outfit for the businessman taking a casual stroll down the streets of Italy.

Overall, D&G has inspired me in adopting more ways of dressing up, and a few pieces that should be brought home into my wardrobe :D
