Sunglasses are not only functional, they can also serve a decorative purpose. A plain basic V-neck T-shirt will probably be the norm if you take a look at the guys on Orchard Road. Hook on a pair of shades on the tip of the "V" and it immediately seperates you from the rest. The sunglasses dresses up the T-shirt, adding colour and/or contrast (depending on what the colour of your plain T-shirt is).
