Cheap Thrills #1: D&G driving shoes VS Banana Republic loafers

Here's a new section, Cheap Thrills! Usually, this phrase would be used to negatively describe something. Today, this section is to showcase something that is cheap, yet enthralling.

D&G leather driving shoes, 197 Euros (SGD$400)

Banana Republic 'Gregory' laced loafer, USD$98 (SGD$150)

Spot the difference? The only difference is the material it is made from, and the colour of the laces. Boat shoes are hot right now. All the brand are coming up with their own interpretation of it, such as Bottega Veneta's tri-coloured boat shoes. (let's leave that to another day)

However, with the current poor economy, I will suggest that unless you have extra cash to spare, to go for the Banana Republic one as both seem so similar! And at half price of D&G's, you can get 2 pairs of Banana Republic loafers and still have cash to spare rather than blowing $400 on the D&G one. Anyway, the D&G and Banana Republic loafers are sold at farfetch.com and bananarepublic.com respectively
