Intreciato Insights #3: Colourful Boat Shoes!

It seems like there is a boat shoe craze going on now with designers, both luxury brands and high street, are coming up with their own interpretation of the tradtional boat shoe, and adding a twist to it with a splash of colour.

Firstly, I am sure many of you have seen and craved for the Bottega Veneta Tri-coloured Boat Shoe from its S/S09 collection. This is probably one of the best boat shoes you can ever have, but it also cost about 50% of the average Singaporean salary. Although it cost $800 per pair and is not one of the most expensive casual shoes (think Lanvin's patent toecap sneakers), not many people can afford it in this economic downturn.

Out comes a few variations from high street label Topman. The Hudson boat shoe is as colourful as the Bottega Veneta's, and at about $130, is a definite cheaper version of it.

Another choice is from ASOS, which costs a mere $50 after shipping, but is not made from leather. Still, a trio of colours are still used in this interpretation of the boat shoe by the people from ASOS.

Colourful boat shoes for all income groups, take your pick guys!
